Facebook keep your job 101: Don't yap your trap on Facebook..C'mon People

Amplify’d from www.allfacebook.com

A Dallas police officer has gone on administrative leave after bragging on the social media site that she cut a hospital worker’s face by throwing a boot at him during a fight.

“I threw my boot at him, Jerry Springer style, and nailed him in the face,” Senior Corporal Cat Lafitte had posted, according to The Dallas Morning News. She also allegedly can’t stop from leaving inappropriate sentiments within photo comments, either. She reportedly posted a comment on a photo of a small black boy surrounded by police that read, “Quick. Sprinkle some crack on him!”

All we can say is wow (and, we don’t mean that in a good way). The 32-year-old is under investigation over whether she officially violated the department’s relatively new social media policy, which says that “employees will not post items or information that may adversely affect the morale, confidence and public respect of the department,” according to the article.

Amplify’d from www.tuaw.com

at&t free minutesLoyal AT&T iPhone customer? AT&T wants to say thank you to iPhone owners by sending you 1000 free rollover minutes. All you have to do is text.

We first heard about this free 1000 minutes deal earlier today but declined to post because we weren't sure that AT&T really was offering it to all customers. We sent an email to AT&T PR and never heard back, but since 9to5Mac claims that AT&T has confirmed this is legitimate for all customers, here are the details of how to claim your minutes.

Hop in to your SMS app and send off the message YES to 11113020 by March 31, 2011. Your account will be credited with 1000 bonus rollover minutes -- although it can take up to four weeks to process the offer. Enjoy!

Update: We contacted AT&T via Seth Bloom (blogger relations) to ensure this was legit and he said, "It's a valid text that some customers are getting. We've done it before, thanking customers."

Weekend Recipe: Budget style 10 recipes for $10.00 meals

Roast Chicken Feast

The meal: Roast chicken makes the perfect special occasion meal. Use smaller broiler/fryers and roast potatoes along with the bird to save money. Carrots gussied up with butter and dill make an inexpensive side. Cost: about $7.

The splurge: A Tin Roof Sundae bar for dessert. Buy a pint of generic vanilla ice cream, a jar of fudge sauce and snack-pack peanuts. Cost: about $6.

Mangia, Mangia

The meal: Less costly than spaghetti and meatballs, Spaghetti Carbonara calls for eggs, bacon, and Parmesan to flavor noodles. Serve with chopped iceberg salad. Cost: about $9.

The splurge: Garlic Bread. Cost: about $3.

Chili for Four

The meal: One-pot meals are crowd pleasers, not to mention easy on the cook. Elevate this bare bones recipe with the garnishes below and a side of baked cornbread. Cost: about $8.

The splurge: Shredded cheddar cheese, chopped scallions, cilantro, and sour cream. Cost: about $5.

Mac & Cheese Comfort

The meal: The ultimate in comfort food can be a little pricey with four cheeses and cream, so buy bulk dairy products to keep cost down. Serve with steamed broccoli. Cost: about $10.

The splurge: Chocolate Pudding. Cost: about $4.

Made in China

The meal: A veggie-rich stir-fry is so easy on the budget you'll have money left over to add a few extras. Start the meal with Egg Drop Soup and finish with fresh fruit. Cost: about $9.

The splurge: Fresh pineapple. Cost: about $4.

Tomato Soup & Grilled Cheese

The meal: Tomato soup goes gourmet with the addition of roasted bell peppers and cream. Try different cheeses and breads to send your usual grilled cheese upscale. Cost: about $10.

Quick Quiche

The meal: A store-bought piecrust keeps this broccoli and cheese quiche simple. Serve with a side of mixed salad greens. Cost: about $9.

Stroganoff Savvy

The meal: Switching to hamburger instead of beef tips cuts down the price of Stroganoff without sacrificing flavor. Serve with steamed zucchini. Cost: about $10.
